Please Review UsThe greatest thing is that PNG has many more advantages when compared to GIF. For example, PNG supports up to sixteen million colors. So, it is quite suitable for complicated and high-quality images as well as photographs. It is not the best format for an image that uses thousands of colors, since a GIF typically supports only 256 colors. PNG, on the other hand, has the property of lossless compression; therefore, it does not damage an image after compression. For a GIF, the images can sometimes display some degradation due to their limited palette, but they will not show any kind of damage. Whereas PNG offers greater benefits as it offers full alpha transparency with a value assigned to every pixel in the image, determining the degree of transparency, GIF has only one color, making it completely transparent.
PNG and GIF have certain factors that separate them: depth of colors, the lossless compression methods, and types of transparency. PNG is used for rendering images with millions of colors, as it provides excellent detail and high-quality images like photographs and relatively incompletely colored illustrations. On the other hand, GIF is limited to several colors: a maximum of 256, certainly making it appropriate for some images and illustrations that require little color. PNG utilizes lossless compression, by which the quality of the photograph is preserved. From this point, GIFs also apply a similar principle of compression, but the provision of limitation of colors again affects the quality of images. PNG has advanced transparency (alpha transparency), while all GIFs provide only simple 1-bit binary transparency (one color becomes transparent)
Both GIFs and PNGs have the property of establishing transparency; they have different approaches, though. For instance, GIF allows you to specify that one color in an image will be made fully transparent, which might be appropriate for simple images like a logo or an icon. Yet this might often not be the best way to indicate the transparency for images that would otherwise create soft edges or changing amounts of opacity. PNG offers an advanced transparency mechanism using its alpha channel, which defines the transparency level, and thus has a smooth transition between the opaque and fully transparent states. Thus, well-designed images will require a lot more such smooth transitions between opaque and completely transparent, which makes it more suitable for complex graphics, web design, and images that must blend into different backgrounds.
"A PNG GIF" can never be. The phrase, "PNG GIF," is contradictory, since no real PNG such as GIF exists as entirely different entities or file formats. The format GIF is mainly for animating pictures, while the format PNG is purely reserved for still images, particularly those that have high quality and transparency. This format can be used to make animations, though GIFs may do it poorly because of the limited ability and palette in color in doing so, and the poor advanced capability for transparency with which PNG has to contend. It is possible, but converting a GIF into a PNG would not make these still images.
